New Addition to Our Family

We now have a new addition to our family. I have never had a pet so I have been wanting one since mike and I got married. So a week ago we went to pets mart and we got a hampster! He is a little dwarf hampster and is oh so cute!

We decided to name him Buddha. When we got him the sales person told us that he is nocturnal so we should be ready to hear noise at night.

However, Buddha is not normal! He is a very silly hampster. He is awake all day! Then he sleeps at night. (although he does like to take naps....but who doesn't)

Buddha loves corn. He will go through his food and find the corn and leave the rest until he gets hungry. He also likes carrots. He loves to run around in his wheel and play in his paper towel tube. That is where he sleeps as well.

He is just starting to get used to his ball and he seems to like it. We have just started handling him so he doesn't sit still in our hands very long yet. (He seems to be a bit camera shy :)

Wiiii!

This Christmas Mike and I made quite a bit of money babysitting, more than we actually spent on Christmas so to celebrate it we decided to spend some of it on something fun for us.

So after discussion and searching....we decided to buy a....Wii! It came with Wii sports and wii sports resort and Mario Kart!! I think it is safe to say that this is our new favorite toy. Mike has beaten so many levels on Mario Kart and I love archery and sword fighting (I crush mike every time). We played sword fighting yesterday since we had a day off and I decided I wouldn't try very hard and so I just sat on the couch and just kinda flicked the remote forward and I still won! We were laughing so hard. He is amazing at Mario Kart though....I have trouble staying on the track.

We have a really good time playing all of the games together!

Happily Ever After

I have had so many friends get married recently which has caused me to reflect on the day that Mike and I got married. I have caught myself thinking about how lucky I am during my classes, between my classes....basically all the time.

I love looking at my friends wedding pictures and seeing how happy they look and I remember how happy I was the day that mike and I were sealed together for eternity. I couldn't stop smiling no matter how hard I tried. I have never felt more loved than I did on March 25, 2010 at 1pm :)I felt like a princess and I will never forget walking down the hallway of the temple in my wedding dress and seeing my prince charming waiting for me at the end of the hall. I married the most amazing man in the world and the perfect man for me. I feel so loved everyday!

I love you sweetie! Thank you for being such a wonderful husband! You're amazing! Thank you for giving me the start of my happily ever after!

New Year's Eve 2010

New Years Eve was warm this year, so warm in fact that we decided to go to the beach because mike hadn't ever been in the Atlantic Ocean. It was 70 degrees and sunny :) We decided to take advantage of the warm and beautiful weather while we had it....

Even though it was warm outside the water was still a little chilly but Mike was brave and went out and splashed around in the water a little bit, of course he said it wasn't near as cold as the Pacific so he thought it felt great :)

We were able to see the bridge from the beach and the water actually looked blue. We loved walking down the beach.

We saw this sign when we were leaving the beach...whoops o well

Since we were already by the bridge, we decided it would be fun to walk on the bridge too. This was something that mike had been asking if we could do...a lot, so this was perfect timing. It was a beautiful day and it was sunny so we got a nice view too.

Mike and I at the top of the bridge.

Mike got some great pictures from the top of the bridge. We also got some nice family shots.

That night we had the Harley family come over for dinner and help us ring in 2011. It was great to spend time with Katie before we left and to play games and talk all night.

I don't have a picture of this but the best part of new years was that I got to kiss Mike at midnight. This was the first time that I have ever had someone to kiss at midnight on new years and it was wonderful to be able to kiss my husband. (Especially since the ball drop wasn't very exciting)

Happy New Year!!!! I hope 2011 is a wonderful year for everyone!

Our First Christmas!

Our first Christmas was December 25, 2010! It was wonderful! I woke up and looked next to me and mike was just laying there looking at me and smiling and said "great you're up, lets go open presents!" Then I explained to him that no one is allowed to go downstairs until everyone is ready to open presents. So then we got ready and waited with my brother until my parents were ready.

Finally everyone was ready but before we could go downstairs....we had to take the traditional picture on the stairs.

On Christmas morning we always open stockings first, youngest to oldest, and then we do presents the same way.

It was a wonderful first Christmas!

Merry Christmas!!

This was our first Christmas together so we were really excited to celebrate together this year! We went to South Carolina and spent it with my family which was wonderful and way to short (its always too short). This trip was much more relaxing than the last time we were there. Their was no wedding to plan and we were able to just go with the flow and were actually able to go visit friends which was probably the best part!

One of my families traditions is to go to the Festival of Lights! I was so excited to take mike to this because he LOVES Christmas lights. (We took so many pictures that night but I only posted a few of our favorites- mostly because the pictures don't do it justice as most of the lights move)

These are a few of the lights you see as you drive through the park...its a few miles

Then you can get out and walk around for a while looking at more lights....

Me, Mike and Joshua

Mike and I did get to kiss under the mistletoe!!

My mom, Joshua and my dad

My dad and Joshua next to what I think is a beaver...

Their is also a sand sculpture every year and we took a few pictures of it. We think that its an under the sea theme.

It was wonderful to be able to continue this tradition with Mike! We had so much fun even though their were a million people there that night :)

Nothing Like Friends!

While Mike and I were in Charleston, I really wanted to see all my friends in a setting that was a little less stressed than a wedding reception; so that we could actually sit down and talk. It was wonderful to see everyone again!

Me and Joelle!! I've known Joelle forever but this was the first time I've seen her in years!

It was great to have Tia and Cara come over!

Katie is practically my sister! I miss her so much when I'm away at school! She's great!

Tiffany is one of my very best friends! I love getting together with her and talking about teacher cadet and then talking about all of our college education classes! Its so nice to have a friend to talk about it all with :)

Kim and I have been friends since pre-school. I love that we can get together after months apart and its like we saw each other the day before!

I didn't get pictures with everyone that I got to see while I was home but I love all of them so much! I hope that Mike and I get to come back really soon and see everyone again :) (Maybe we'll even get to move here ;)

An Adorable Boy

So I couldn't not do a post for this little guy..... :)

Mike and I got to babysit for a couple days while we were home and the youngest was a 4 month old little boy. Jack Griffin is an adorable little boy!

I love this little boy! I'm going to miss him!
