Perspective

Lately I've been thinking a lot about perspective and where my priorities are. The reason these thoughts have been on my mind is because of all of the recent changes in technology involving facebook and cell phones. It seems like the world we live in is so focused on themselves and how to look at facebook that we have lost sight of what is important. I will admit that I can fall victim to this trap. Their are times when I have caught myself on facebook when I know that I should be doing something more worthwhile or texting so much that I'm not talking to the people around me.

So I have decided to make more of an effort to focus on what is most important to me and give myself a much needed change of perspective. My husband, family,and the gospel are the most important things in my life. My attention should be focused on spending time with my husband, helping each other to be better everyday and looking for ways to help others.

My Husband

Mike is definitely my #1!! I love him so much! He makes me want to be better everyday and I love him for it! I love him for always helping me and stopping what he is doing to help me with anything that I need. You're amazing sweetie!


My Family

I love my family. I miss them and I wish they weren't so far away but I'm grateful that I can be with them forever and I love the time we have together.





Church

I'm so grateful for the gospel in my life. I can't imagine where I would be without the knowledge of the gospel that I have. I know that I wouldn't be sealed to my family or to my wonderful husband. I'm grateful for the temple and the blessings that it brings. It is the most wonderful blessing in my life.



I hope that I can keep my perspective focused on the important things in my life and remember how important they are.

Not All Bad

I know I've missed a few days of listing reasons why I love my husband but that is because we have both been sick and still are actually. I stinks when we are both sick at the same time. This is the worst since neither of us really have the energy to do anything. Yesterday we couldn't even stand up for long periods of time without getting dizzy. However, today we slept in til 10 (which is weird for us) and tonight we are starting to feel a little better. Mike is so sweet even when he is sick. He is constantly asking me if I'm ok and doing everything for me even though he is sick.

I will say that the only good part about being sick is the quality snuggle time that I get with mike. Its nice because all we want to do is curl up and sleep all the time. I love my husband for being so sweet and caring and trying so hard to help me feel better. I only hope that I'm helping him feel better too. So I would say that this weekend hasn't been all bad. (and its a nice bonus that we don't have school tomorrow either)

So Relaxed :)

I'm in a PE class this semester. It is a lot of fun but sometimes it means that I'm sore after class for a few days. Today my foot was hurting me after some of the activities in class yesterday and Mike gave me a foot rub for a while. It was so sweet and so relaxing. That is why I love Mike today :)

Just a few thoughts...

Let me just say that their are many reasons why I love my husband this week....let me just name a couple....

1. I love when he tells me that he doesn't want to go out because he just wants to be with me. I can't count the number of times that Friday morning rolls around and I ask mike what he wants to do that night and he says that he doesn't care if we do anywhere because he just wants to spend time together. Makes me feel so loved :)

2. When I have an art project that I can't do and he helps me with it. For art this week I had to make a clay pot but I'm not very coordinated with clay. So, mike being the wonderful husband that he is offered to help me. He did such a wonderful job! It was fun to work on it together too :)

3. I love that he has learned that often when I'm upset I just need him to hold me while I cry or while I vent.

Mike is so much better than me and more than I deserve most days but I love him so much and I'm grateful to have him :)

Happy Valentine's Day

Let me just start with saying that this valentine's day was so much better than last year. This time last year Mike and I were engaged but we were on opposite sides of the country so I was alone. This valentine's day was wonderful! Just being in the same room with mike made me so happy :)

We decided to make valentine's day a weekend. So we did our real celebrating on saturday. Mike and I went out to a romantic dinner at Olive Garden that night. We came home and I got truffles which are my favorite chocolate and we had sparkling cider :) It was a wonderful romantic and fun evening.

Mike came home and surprised me with a dozen red roses :)

I love my husband so so much!! He is the perfect valentine. I love that when we woke up this morning, I got a kiss and a hug :) I love that we can laugh and have pillow fights before we go to sleep and then just start laughing. I'm so grateful that I am married to the most amazing man in the world! I'm grateful that he never leaves me without a kiss goodbye. I'm grateful that he hides his confusion when I laugh and cry at the same time and get worked up over nothing. I'm grateful for his patience with me. I'm grateful that he loves me and I love him so so much!

Day Before Valentines Day

So usually are Sunday mornings go like this....we wake up at like 7:45 and we get up to get ready for church at 9 am. Usually we're up and running pretty quickly and we don't spend a whole lot of time just snuggling and talking in the morning. During the week its worse cause we are up at 6:20 am for school. However, today I love my husband because we got up a little earlier this morning and just laid in bed talking and cuddling for a while. It was so nice to have some quiet time before we go to Church and spend time talking to 3 year olds. I love Mike for the quality time he tries to find for us to spend quiet time together :)

Day 12 :)

Since Valentine's day is on a monday this year and we will be at school for most of the day (oh so romantic). We decided to celebrate this weekend. To celebrate Mike took me out for a romantic dinner to Olive Garden where I was allowed to order anything I wanted and as much food as I wanted :)(We dressed up too, mike even wore a tie) When we got home we had chocolate truffles and sparkling cider since that is what we had on our honeymoon and now we have it whenever we are celebrating a special occasion.

It was a wonderful evening! I had a wonderful time spending valentine's day with the man of my dreams :)

Day 11...So sweet :)

Anyone who knows me knows that straightening my hair is one of my least favorite things to do. Tonight was one of those nights. I was putting off doing my hair since it takes forever and its boring since I'm stuck in the bathroom by myself for an hour or so. Since mike knows how much I hate it, tonight he offered to straighten my hair for me. I just started laughing because I thought he was kidding. He was completely serious and said that he wanted to do it for me since he wanted to do something to serve me and make me happy :)

I decided to let him give it a shot and he didn't do a terrible job. I did end up doing most of it just so that it would get done faster but it was such a sweet gesture :) I'm sure it won't happen again but I really appreciated him trying. I love my husband! He is amazing :) That is why I love him today....because he is always trying to find new ways to show me how much he loves me :)

Day 10...Cooking!

I love to cook and I love cooking for mike and I. Its fun to be able to cook everything that we like and try new things for us to have. Its always an adventure, even though sometimes new things don't come out the way they are supposed to until I've practiced a few times.

While I do love making dinner for us, their are a few things that Mike makes better than me. Anytime we have hamburgers I have Mike make them. He always makes them for dinner and he makes the best fettuccine Alfredo too :) It is so so yummy :) Mike helps me cook all the time. It is way more fun to cook together anyway! The only problem is that whenever he helps I tell him that what he makes is better than when I make it :) (Maybe I should have him cook more often) Anyway, I love it when Mike makes yummy food for us to eat and when we cook in the kitchen together :)

Day 9....such a gentleman :)

I want to start by saying that mike is such a gentleman :) For example, I don't think I have opened a door, car or otherwise, by myself in the 2 years since I met Mike. I have a wonderful husband. He is so sweet and caring. He is always doing things for me that I could do but he tells me that I shouldn't have to do. He always helps me with everything around the house. He doesn't think I should have to do everything by myself and that he wants to help me. I love him so much for always wanting to help me and work together. He is amazing!

Day 8 :)

Today I love Mike because he gives me a hug and a kiss every time he sees me. Every time he sees me he gets so excited and acts like he hasn't seen me in days. Its so wonderful to feel so missed and so loved. He makes me feel like the most important person in the world. He always has the biggest smile on his face when he sees me coming and holds me close when I get there :) He is perfect for me in so many ways and I am grateful for such a wonderful sweetheart :)

Day Seven :)

Today was a bad monday and it started with me taking a bad fall early this morning. Mike wasn't around and we were at opposite ends of campus. I texted him and let him know where I was and what happened. A few minutes later he called me and asked me if I was ok. I started to tell him about my day and then looked up and saw Mike walking toward me. I was so happy that he was there. He only had about 10 mins until he had to be back at the other end of campus. It was so sweet of him to come and see me. It made me feel so much better :) I love him so so much!

I love Mike because he always takes time to make sure that I'm safe and happy :) The monday ended better than it began :)

Day Six!!

Today I love my husband because he made dinner for us tonight :) Mike usually helps me with dinner but tonight he worked so hard to make dinner for us and it was delicious!

I love him so much for giving me a break and letting me relax! It was so nice to just enjoy the evening and be spoiled for the night :) I love you sweetie!

ART!!!! :)

I'm taking an art methods class for my major and I have a few projects to do once a week. I had a few requests to put the projects up online so that other people could see them. I'm not a very good artist yet but it is a fun class and I enjoy it.


This was the shadow box I made for my first project. It was supposed to tell people a little about me.


This is a scratch art project that had to be based on a civilization. I chose Egypt and the symbols at the bottom of the eye spell Egypt.


This is an example of what cave art could've looked like.



These folders are examples of principles and elements of design. They took forever to do but were fun.

These next projects are projects that are specifically designed to be projects that elementary students could do in a short period of time. These were definitely the most fun to do.


This one is a bumblebee and it started out with just a doodle on the page that had to be turned into something. I just thought a really fat bumblebee would be cute.


This was string art. I put paint on a string and put it in a folded piece of paper and moved it around and pulled it out. Mike says it looks like two elephants :)


This was a project to see how wax crayon resists water color paint. Its not terribly exciting but I thought it was pretty.

Day 5!

I love my husband because he puts up with me. Its as simple as that :)

Thank you sweetie for putting up with me and not ever getting mad. You're an amazing husband.

Day 4!!

I love my husband because tonight he watched sound of music with me!! He even let me sing the songs as loud as I wanted too!

Mike hadn't ever seen the sound of music before so I wanted him to see it. He was even excited to watch it with me and we cuddled under a blanket and had hot cider :)It was a perfect friday night :)



He is the best husband I could ask for :)

Day Three!

The reason why I love my wonderful husband today is because we fall asleep holding hands every night and wake up holding hands every morning!



It couldn't be more perfect :)

Day 2!!

So, I thought of so many things that I could write today for reasons why I love Mike but I have chosen my second reason....

I love Mike because he makes me laugh all the time! I am never bored when I'm around mike and he is one of the only people who can make me laugh and smile no matter what kind of mood I'm in at the time. I'm so grateful for a husband who makes sure that I am happy everyday.

I love that we do silly things together just to laugh and have fun!



This is picture of us dancing. It was a sunday I was nervous about a test I had the next morning so I was kind of quiet and so he turned on music and grabbed my hand and we just started dancing in the living room. I was laughing and smiling so much that I completely forgot how nervous I was.

28 Reasons Why I Love My Husband :)

So I decided that for the month of February, I am going to list a reason why I love Mike so much every day :)I know this is cheesy so beware :) So this is Day 1....

The first reason that I love him so much is so simple, I love him because he loves me. I will admit that I'm impatient, stubborn and difficult at times but he loves me anyway! I'm so incredibly lucky to be able to say that and know that!



I'm so grateful for such a wonderful husband who loves me unconditionally despite my many flaws and helps me to want to be better everyday.
