When we got into the village we went to the giant Christmas tree to see the tree lighting ceremony. We ended up standing right next to Santa, Mrs. Claus and the teddy bear! This made the boys night! They could've just gone home. Liam was still a little shaken from the helicopter and the teddy bear came over and started playing peek a boo with him and that made Liam laugh. He got some high fives and some hugs too.
Daniel was in heaven. He has a teddy and teddy is his best friend. I'm pretty sure Daniel's dream is to have teddy come to life and play with him and that's exactly what this was. The look on Daniel's face was pure joy!
After playing with teddy we waited for Santa to light the Christmas tree. Its important to remember that at this point Liam was on grandma's shoulders. When the lights turned on he was excited. A couple seconds later a fireworks show started right over us and Liam dove off grandmas shoulders and right into Aunt Stacey's arms. He was so scared. After a few seconds he saw his Uncle Doug and went right to him and didn't want to let go. He just kept saying he wanted to go home. I'm glad Uncle Doug was there to protect him :)
The rest of the night was less scary for Liam. We went to the magical forest next to see all of the Christmas trees that are all decorated differently and have themes. Its a beautiful place. Their is something so beautiful and peaceful about Christmas lights for me. I could just stay there for hours looking at the lights.
Puppy tree and house! |
Grandma wanted to let the boys do one of the extra carnival rides they have there and they wanted to ride the train through the forest after seeing it while we walked through. The right was pretty cool and Daniel loved pointing out everything he saw.
We had to get a picture in the carriage too and in front of the giant tree :)
