Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving this year! We got to spend it with lots of family and it was so much fun. The boys got to play with lots of cousins and they got to see grandma kate and papa J. Between family, super yummy food and success with black friday shopping it was a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The best part was that we didn't have to travel or host. We had dinner at Mike's cousin Kaytie's house in Vegas along with Stacey, Doug, grandma and grandpa. We also got to see John, Jen and their kids.

It was cold and I am now so used to hot that it was too cold for me to do the huff and puff outside so Mike, the boys and I just went to the gym to our own huff and puff before you stuff.

When we got to Kaytie's the boys got started playing with the kids right away and grandma kate was a life saver with crafts and activities for the kids! Dan really liked playing hide and seek with grandma and it was so funny watching her "hide".  Mike got to watch football and I helped get the yummy food ready. John made our yummy turkey and we had so many delicious sides that I couldn't choose a favorite!

We had a kids table which was so cute and a grown up table. It was nice being able to just enjoy dinner and not actually we sitting with the kids.

I am so thankful for my family and for our good health this year. Its been a great year and we are so blessed to have been able to move to Vegas and have a good job and a safe home and a healthy family just to name a few of our blessings. I hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving!

Christmas decorating

We did something we've never done before this November. We decorated for Christmas before Thanksgiving. It has been awesome! The boys were asking to decorate as soon as Halloween was over and I gave in after about 2 weeks. I figured I say no to so many things and it wasn't hurting anyone to say yes to this. Also, why postpone joy? And for those people who say but thanksgiving??? Um I'm pretty sure I can be grateful for all my blessings while looking at a Christmas tree. I love eating pie by the glow of the Christmas tree!

The boys had a lot of fun helping this year! They even had their own little tree they got to decorate. I'm so happy to have a tree with color lights again. Last year we had a white pre-lit tree and it was beautiful but this year when we went to plug the tree in, we found out that half the lights didn't work. So mike cut the lights off the tree and we strung our own color lights and I'm so happy with how it turned out!

its the little things

I love that my boys are so easy to please and that they aren't obsessed with electronics. We went to the dollar store and the boys picked out small stuffed animals. Daniel got a teddy bear and Liam got a puppy. They were so happy to have them that they wanted to take them to the park. So we went to the park and they pushed their animals on the swings and took them down the slides. Then Daniel wanted a photo shoot with his teddy bear.

Last weekend we went to the air show. We made it about 2 hours into the show but the boys all loved the static displays and Daniel loved the bit of the show he watched. Their favorite part were the helicopters which they got to sit in and thought was super cool. We'll have to try again next year and then maybe Liam won't be so scared of the loud noises.
