Valley of Fire

Last weekend we wanted to go hiking so we decided to go to Zions. When we got there we found out all the parking in the park was full (we got there at 9am) so we had to find parking around the town but we didn't want to pay the ridiculous parking fees especially since we could've parked for free if they had more parking in the park. So we turned around the drove back towards Vegas and went to the Valley of Fire.

The park was beautiful! Dan loved hiking and climbing up the rocks on the sides of the trail. Liam got to ride in the back pack and he was lucky. The trails were sand which made them difficult and more exhausting to walk on. Good thing it wasn't too hot. The first hike we did ended at a little pool of water and the boys got to throw rocks in the water.

After our hike we stopped and had a picnic. Then we tried one more hike but we didn't get far before it got too steep and tricky to do with the boys so we turned back and just drove around the park. Dan had the right idea to walk along the rocks on the side...made the hike much easier. We did get to see lots of the famous petroglyphs on our hikes.
