10 months

Happy 10 months Daniel!
His stats (approx.):
Weight: 19 lbs 2 oz
Height: 28 inches

I can't believe my baby boy is almost a year old! Time has flown by and I can't imagine our family without him. He is the sweetest boy. It is impossible to be upset with him and he can brighten any bad day. Its so much fun to watch him grow and learn new things everyday. He still looks like me but I think he's got Mike's personality which is fine with me :) We love you sweet boy!

- Daniel is moving all over the house. He has been able to pull himself up onto things for a while now but he has started to walk along them now. He is getting really good at walking along the couch and can even walk while pushing his rock and play around the living room! He basically pulls himself up onto everything and climbs on everything. This boy is so busy!

- He has 2 teeth on the bottom and 2 teeth on the top. He does ok with teething but if he's tired then the pain of teething becomes 10x worse (apparently) because his crankiness increases quite a bit. He does want to be snuggled more though when that happens and that's not so bad :)

- We made another big transition this month which was to move him from napping in his swing to napping in his pack and play. He actually did surprisingly well with the transition. I was worried because he has always had movement at nap time but he seemed to really like being able to sleep on his belly which is how I usually find him. He's still swaddled at night but not for nap time. He still naps three times everyday for an hour to an hour and a half each time :)

- Daniel still loves bath time! Night time is my favorite time of day. I love giving him a bath and reading stories and scriptures together and I love tucking him in.

- He is still wearing size 3 diapers (I think he will for a while longer) and is wearing 6-9 month clothes. Pants are still a little long on him but now that its getting warmer hopefully that won't be such an issue.

- Daniel is such a social little boy. He loves to be around people and will let us know when he's feeling ignored. Most of the time he is right next to me during the day. He doesn't have to be held all the time but he likes to be included in the fun. He's babbling a lot now too. No words really just mama but he babbles baba and lala a lot now too. I'm hoping he'll start talking more soon. He definitely loves to play. His favorite toys are his turtle ball pit and his stacking rings. He also really loves his teddy bear. He starting to use it to calm himself down when he's upset, its really sweet.

- Dan is such a good eater! He had meat for the first time this month and he seems to like it. He's had pork chops and chicken so far. He's getting better at picking food up himself too. We've tried giving him practice with cereal and banana.

- He has also started dancing whenever music is playing and even when no music is playing. He does it in the car a lot and when he's waiting in his high chair for his food. Its super cute :)

-Dan also loves to read books! His favorites are Clifford's Bedtime and Ten Little Ladybugs. He also likes to be sung to. His favorite song is the Winnie the Pooh song that I sing to him. It really calms him down when his teeth are hurting him.

5 Years!

I can't believe Mike and I have been married for 5 years! It's been a great 5 years and I'm surprised at how fast it has gone by. We had a pretty laid back day. We watched Harry Potter and Father of the Bride. We also celebrated with baked ziti and Cold stone Ice cream. It was delicious! We basically just spent as much of the day together as possible even though Mike had finals and patients.

We didn't want to do a lot since we're planning a trip to Florida to celebrate but we like spending time together doing anything. He did go get me flowers though even though I told him not too :)

Happy Anniversary Mike! I love you so much! Thank you for putting up with me. You spoil me and give me more than I deserve. You take such great care of me and Daniel and I love what a great dad you are! I still think that marrying you was the best decision I ever made and these last 5 years have been wonderful. They haven't always been perfect but you've always made me laugh and encouraged me to see the bright side. I love you!!

Happy 9 Months!

Wow! I can't believe my baby boy is already 9 months old! In some ways it feels like its been forever but in some ways it feels like he was born yesterday.

His stats:
Height: 27 1/4 inches
Weight: 18 lbs 6.5oz

- Daniel now has 2 teeth and is working on cutting a third one. Since he is teething, he has been a little fussier than normal but for the most part its not bad. He mainly is just extra clingy which is good and bad. He mostly just wants to be around people all the time. You don't have to hold him or play with him all the time but he wants to know where we are. I love this age that he's at right now because he is so much fun but teething is definitely my least favorite part.

-  Dan has started pulling himself up to standing. He stands up next to the couch, the tub and basically everything. Its funny because he gets really frustrated when he stands up and can't go anywhere. I feel kind of bad laughing but its cute. I don't think it'll be long before he is walking.

- He is still scooting around. He can crawl but he doesn't like to do it. He is able to sit up from laying down and can sit really well. He is so fun and cute, I love watching him scoot around. He's able to scoot really quickly, especially when he wants to play with something.

- Daniel loves bath time, riding in his stroller, playing with people, eating everything he finds on the ground, and he is usually smiling and laughing. Lately he laughs hysterically whenever someone blows there nose.

- He still doesn't like the process of getting dressed or having his nose cleaned out (which is a lot lately cause he's sick).

- Daniel is a great eater! He loves carrots, pears, peas and carrots (combined), banana, avocado, peaches, sweet potatoes and cereal. He is pretty good about drinking out of his sippy cup too. He is losing interest in his bottle so hopefully that means he'll be easy to wean off the bottle. We're going to try meat soon :)

- He is also starting to talk more. He said his first word at the beginning of February and it was mama! Yay! Of course now that he knows that word he says it all the time. He is working on baba and I've heard dada a few times.

-He is a big helper and he loves to be in the center of any excitement. He loves to help unload and load the dishwasher and he will follow us all over the apartment.

- Daniel is wearing mostly 3-6 month stuff still and 6 month. He has a few 9 month things that fit him but he's slowly growing into all of that. He's still our little shorty :)

Happy 9 months Daniel! You're the sweetest little boy and we can't imagine our family without you!

GHS Half Marathon

Mike just completed his second half marathon in the year 2015 and his third in the last 5 months. He ran the GHS half marathon in Greenville, SC. Mike said it was a nice run but most of it was a straight line down the Swamp Rabbit Trail. He did a great job! He finished in 98th place out of 988 runners and finished in 1 hour 38 minutes! I'm so proud of him! He ran this race three minutes faster overall than the last and he improved his mile time by 14 seconds :) I'm so impressed that he can do this and that he can do it so well. He loves going running and Daniel and I love cheering him on.

Yesterday was a cold morning. I don't understand why they think they need to start races at 7:30am in February. It was so cold. Daniel was all wrapped up and had 2 blankets but since it was super windy he wasn't having it. So we watched Mike cross the finish line through the window of a CVS store :) We were still cheering really loud though along with a bunch of other people who had the same idea I did.

Congratulations sweetie! We're so proud of you and we can't wait until the end of April to cheer you on again!

Snow Day!

On February 17th we woke up to find that we had gotten freezing rain and some snow during the night. We really only got ice but since the roads were bad, especially early in the morning, the schools were closed so Mike got to stay home. Since it was mostly ice outside there wasn't really anything for Daniel to play in but we took him outside and let him experience what little we did get.

Strike a pose!!

I'm all done
When we were done playing, I got a text from Bri telling me that Craig was home from work too because of the weather so we bundled up and headed over to there place for the afternoon :) They are going to have a baby girl soon so Daniel got to use the crib for his nap (which was great!) and we also had some fun dressing him up :) Someone has to model how the hats will look on a baby! We also had him in another outfit but I didn't get a picture :( Aren't these cute though!

Daniel also got to meet Turner! I think he was curious about this furry creature that was his size but he had fun playing with him.

We had fun playing games and watching TV and just hanging out. Its fun to spend time with friends and get out of the apartment at the same time :)

The best seat in the house...he's sitting on Bri's belly :)
It was a great snow/ice day!

Valentine's Day 2015

We had a really fun Valentines Day and weekend this year. It started on Friday night with Mike and I going out. I let Mike surprise me on Valentine's Day so I never know where we're going but he does a good job. This year we went to Ruby Tuesday's (we were going to go to Longhorn but the wait was more than an hour and a half) and then we went roller skating! I was great to get out and have some alone time! To be honest, since we had Daniel I don't care where we go on a date or what we do, just as long as we get to be together :)

Our Valentine's day was busy and soooo much fun! It started with Mike going out and getting us a yummy breakfast. We had yummy blueberry and chocolate chip muffins with apple fritters that were warm and fresh. It was a delicious breakfast! So good that I didn't take time to take a picture of it :)

Mike and I don't do gifts for Valentine's Day. The only thing I ask for is a surprise date and a rose which he surprised me with on Valentine's morning. I broke the rules though and got him some truffles which are one of his favorites :) After our breakfast and hanging out at home we had to go to Walmart (such a glamorous activity). While we were out our friends texted and told us they had something to give us but since we weren't home they met us at Walmart. They surprised us with a piece of chocolate cake from Fatz :) It was sooooo yummy! After we ate, we went shopping together. I must admit, shopping at Walmart is more fun with friends :)

After we went shopping we decided to invite Bri and Craig over for dinner to continue the fun we were having at the store. But before they came it was time for a photoshoot with my little boy!

He is just so cute and sweet! I love my sweet little valentine :)

Bri and Craig came over and we had lasagna which was yummy and had fun playing with Daniel and talking and just hanging out. (I just wish I had taken pictures) They went home when we put Dan to bed so once they left Mike and I got in our pajamas and watched Leap Year and ate cheesecake from Ruby Tuesdays! It was a wonderful day and we had so much fun!

I love my two Valentine's! I'm so lucky to have a husband who spoils me and shows me how much he loves me everyday and not just on Valentine's day! I also love my newest valentine, he is the sweetest! I love when he says mama now and it just melts my heart. They're the best present I could get!
