Zoo

For Daniel's birthday I thought a trip to the zoo would be fun since he loves animals so much. The zoo itself was small and a bit more money than it was worth but Daniel was in heaven and loved it so much that it was worth it! Dan loved all of the animals but his favorite was the grizzly bear or 'teddy' as he so affectionately called them :)

We love you Daniel! I'm so glad we were able to take him to the zoo and see how excited he got over the animals. It was the first time he'd been to the zoo since he was just a few months old. After the zoo, we leaned his favorite animal is a bear. He also loved the monkeys and he also loved the giant bug figurines all over the zoo for the bugzilla event.

What happened to my sweet baby boy!? He is all grown up now!

- Liam is walking now! He started taking one or two steps a month or so ago but he started walking all the time around Mother's Day. Now he is full on walking and tries to run sometimes.

- He has 4 teeth now and is using them to eat everything he can get his hands on. His current favorites are chicken nuggets and baked beans. He still loves bananas and peanut butter too! He's doing great with a sippy cup too.

- Liam loves to play! He loves riding on the swings at the park. He also loves playing with his brothers cars and stuffed animals. He doesn't ever sit still. He is always on the move. Changing his diaper is a challenge at times because he rolls.

- He is a happy boy the majority of the time. He loves people and he is pretty easily distracted so even if he is having a bad day, we can distract him and make him smile.

- He still loves bath time and giggles whenever he's near water. I can't wait to take him to a pool this summer.

Mothers Day weekend

This was our my 3rd Mother's Day. I got to take the boys out for our traditional breakfast the day before Mother's Day. This year we went to Chick fil A. I thought it was fitting because its where I went with Dan the first year and Liam also wore the same outfit that Dan wore when he went the first time. We got a nice surprise when one of the workers came over and gave us a free sausage, egg and cheese biscuit because someone had changed their order! Its the little things :)

I wanted donuts for my breakfast so that's what I had but I got one for Dan too :)

Babies R Us was having a Babies 1st Birthday event that morning and I took the boys. They read a story and all the babies got a birthday goodie bag with a stuffed giraffe, a book and some other treats. They also got to do their hand prints and Liam got covered in blue ink. Since Daniel was there too the workers were sweet enough to give Daniel a goodie bag too. They gave him 2 balloons too which would have been enough to make him happy :)

We had a great Mother's Day this year too. Mike made me a yummy coffee cake breakfast and the boys were so sweet in the morning. We had a nice morning at church. All the women got yummy cookies and I even got to go to relief society. I spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and Mike made me taco skillet for dinner and peanut butter cheesecake cupcakes for dessert. It was a great day and I felt very loved.

 I'm so blessed to have these 2 little boys call me mommy. They are so sweet and the best boys in the world. I love my boys! I'm also so grateful for my mom. She is a wonderful mom and grandma and I'm so lucky to have her. I'm also grateful for my mother in law for raising Mike and doing such a great job! Thank you to all the other mothers in my life who have been wonderful examples to me of how to be a great mom!

Family hike

The first weekend of May we went on our first hike as a family of 4 and our first hike in Utah. Mike had the day off and we were going on a hike with everyone in his office. It was a 5 mile hike up to the hot springs in spanish fork canyon.We borrowed a hiking back pack to carry our food and water and just to have in case Daniel didn't want to walk or couldn't. We were also lucky to be able to buy one so we had one to carry Liam in.

Liam loved riding in the carrier. He only fell asleep at the end of the hike. We were so impressed by Daniel. He walked almost the whole time. He really only got upset at the end of the hike cause he was so tired. He loved throwing rocks in the water and picking flowers along the trail.

We didn't get in the hot springs on this hike. The area actually smelled so bad (like rotting eggs) and was giving me a headache so we just stopped long enough to rest, eat a snack and let Dan throw rocks in the water.

I think we're going to have to go on more hikes :)
