Discovery Museum

 

We took the boys to a new place- the discovery museum. The boys loved it! The water exploration room was a particular hit with the boys. 

The boys started out on the pirate ship and the castle. Which they thought was fun. 

Then we made our first (of two) stops in the water area. 

Upstairs they had a fun creative area for the kids to build things and also these pulley chairs which the boys had fun riding. 

They also had a real world section. So first the boys got to pretend to be airport workers scanning luggage and they got to be pilots and fly the plane. Dan really thought this was cool. 

They also got to pretend to be mechanics. 

Then they pretended to be doctors and took care of the babies. 

They had this earthquake simulator. So Mike and Dan tried to build buildings and then it would shake like an earthquake. 

At the end we went back to the water area one more time. After the water the boys we soaked so we went to the fantasy area while they dried off. 

Utah trip

 Last weekend we made a Saturday trip up to Salt Lake to see my grandma. The boys were excited to see great grandma but they were really excited to see snow. We also got a fun surprise when we got there because my cousin Breanna was there with her 3 kids and the boys had so much fun playing with their cousins. 

It was nice to talk to my grandma and to have her see the boys. Although Liam was too nervous to go say hi so we got a picture with grandma in the background. The kids built a snowfort to slide down and they had a snowball fight. 

Gymnastics

 At the beginning of February we signed Dan up for gymnastics. He really loves it and its nice for him to have something that he's good at thats just his. He's getting really close to being able to do a cartwheel. 

Valentines Day

 We had a nice Valentines Day this year. Much better than last year. My mom told me about this idea to put a heart on the boys door for the first 14 days of February and the boys really liked seeing them everyday.

The boys also got a few surprises and we had yummy donuts for breakfast. Mike got me a warm Lord of the Rings blanket which I've been cuddling with every night and I got him some new headphones he's been wanting for a couple years. 

That night we made heart shaped pancakes for the boys and Mike made me a heart shaped pizza. 

Dentist

 We finally took the boys to the dentist for the first time. Daniel was super excited to go. When we got there he hopped right into the chair and said "I'm so excited!" Then when the chair started to move he said it was like a ride at Disneyland. The best part..no cavities!

Liam wasn't as excited as Dan. He started to cry a little when he first got in the chair but then we distracted him with Robin Hood and he was at least not crying. The dentist was great though and showed him everything before she did it and talked him through it so he was calm. Then he was so proud of himself for being brave. No cavities either!

The boys really liked having papa here this time.
