Cecret Lake

Every month or so Mike's office closes and the staff all go on a hike and families are invited. We hadn't done one in a little while because the summer has been so crazy but last week we got to go on another one. This time we hiked to Cecret Lake in Little Cottonwood Canyon. It was a shorter hike but it was still a tricky one. It was pretty rocky and was a little difficult in spots for Daniel. The view at the top was beautiful though. I love being out in the mountains and surrounded by the beautiful earth. Its nice to get away from the business of life and be somewhere quiet for a little while. 

The boys loved the lake! They played in the water and threw lots of rocks. We also saw lots of little rodents, I'm not sure exactly what they were, but the boys loved watching them run around and they actually got pretty close to us. We also saw two moose on the other side of the lake. 

Since we did the hike with Mike's staff we weren't the only ones with kids. Ruth came with her husband and their girls who are both just a little older than the boys. These two are so sweet!

MTC

We've been watching the new Provo MTC for almost a year now and its done! We got tickets to the open house so we could tour the new one but we also got to tour the old one. I was super excited because I didn't go on a mission so I had no idea what the mtc looked like. 

Walking through the mtc was fun especially since we got to see all the missionaries. It was kind of weird- like watching monkeys in the zoo :)

The new mtc is beautiful. The biggest difference that I noticed was how much brighter the new building is. The old is so dark and the new one has so many windows and also has so much beautiful art work. Liam wasn't too happy but we made it through. We didn't get to watch the video but it was all good. The thought I kept having while we walked around was that it looked like the lobby of a huge company. 

Daniels new bed

Daniel has been sleeping on the floor of his bedroom on a mattress for a couple months. He broke his toddler bed and we've been looking for a new one for him. We finally found one at IKEA a few weeks ago and Mike picked it up on his way home from work.

He and Dan got it all set up and Daniel picked out his bedding at the store. He wanted the bedding with trucks of course!

He loves his new bed! I love that we can turn it over when he's older and it can be a loft style bed. He can play under it.

Grandma Visit

We had a visit this past weekend from grandma Kate and grandma Geniel too. The boys had a lot of fun playing with grandma. We went by the new MTC and we went out for lunch with family. The boys were so good (Daniel is watching Pooh) and it was great to meet with cousins and get to know everyone :)

We took the grandma's by the mall so Dan could show them Pooh bear and we also went to the splash pad and playground but of course I didn't take any pictures. Kate and I were introduced to Zupa's at dinner and it was so good!

Mike and I took advantage of the visit and went out for a date night. We went to the movies to see Spiderman! It was such a good movie and I'm so glad we got to see it in theaters :)

Can't wait to have grandma come visit us again :)
