Its been hot here lately but we got to the park early enough that the boys got some good playing in. They had lots of fun and Daniel tried the ropes and they were easily his favorite thing to play on. He had so much fun going up high. He was driving me crazy but he was super good at it. He is my little monkey and is ready to try anything!

Ropes!
We have an elementary school by our house which has a nice playground. Since its summer time I took the boys there to play. They have a soccer field and the boys had fun playing soccer. Liam was so cute dribbling the ball to the net.

We all scream for ice cream!
Who doesn't love ice cream! We went to the mall this weekend and went to the new arcade/bowling alley. They had .98 cents ice cream cones! The boys loved their vanilla ice cream cones. Liam's was so big that we had to get him a bowl for it. I had cookie dough and mike had cookies and cream.

CrossFit
I love exercise! I love the feeling of working hard and accomplishing something hard. For this reason Mike signed me up for a CrossFit class. I've gone to 2 class and I've loved both. I can't do the schedule right now but every Saturday they do a class and that I can do!
This past Saturday it was just me and 2 trainers. I did a sled run of 50 feet and pushed 120 lbs! I did it 10 times and by the end I was beating the other person I was competing against. Granted he was pushing a lot more weight than me but still I didn't think I could do it at all! Then we had 20 minutes to do a rotation of rowing, push ups on rings, sit ups and squats with a medicine ball and after each rotation the number increased by 10. We made it all the way to 50 each but we had to split the number. It was awesome!
It doesn't go
Daniel's speech therapy office is on the Brunswick landing base and that means we drive by old airplanes to get to speech. Every time we drive there Dan asks to see the planes that don't go. He is sure to tell me that these planes don't go so he can't ride one. Then I promise that one day we will ride on an airplane. One day on the way to therapy we were early so we stopped to see one of the planes. Dan and Liam were so excited! I just kept thinking how much they would love the air and space museum in DC! Who knows maybe we can go there on a plane!
play dough
The boys have been sick with hand, foot, mouth for the past week. This means we've been stuck at home and we're all going a bit crazy. We've watched way too many movies and the house is starting to feel small.
We have had some fun though. One morning I pulled out the play dough set Daniel got for his birthday and the kids and I played with it for over an hour!

the wall that heals
potty training
After 15 months of on and off potty training attempts Daniel is officially potty trained! I am so excited to not have to change him anymore!
If you know Daniel then you know that he doesn't do anything until he wants to and he doesn't do it until he is confident that he can do it. When he learned to walk he didn't let go of anything to try to walk until he walked across the living room. It was like he didn't want to walk until he could do it without falling down.
Potty training was no different. We have tried off and on for the last 15 months and we have tried everything. We tried the 3 day method, we tried pull ups, we tried charts, music, videos and books. Nothing worked long term.
I finally decided it was time and got rid of pull-ups and put him in underwear. I told him that we had a special chart for each time he went in the potty and he picked out 2 treats; one for going pee and the other for going poop. We also decided we were tired of cleaning out the little potty so we got him a seat for the real toilet which he picked out and was excited to use!
After a week he was only wearing underwear and after 2 weeks he hadn't had an accident! He picked it up so fast and even does a great job when we go out :)
We also promised him that when he was going in the potty and had filled up his sticker charts (he had 3) that we would go to the store and he could pick out a toy. He searched the store but picked out a soccer ball :)
