Rocky Ridge

We went apple picking! A friend called and invited the boys and I to go with her and her son Ryan to Rocky Ridge apple orchard. We had so much fun! We got so many apples! Daniel loved climbing the ladders to get the good apples up high in the trees and he was pretty good at finding the good apples. Liam and Ryan were good at finding apples too. Liam found one and carried it around while we were there and munched on it :)

They also had a fun tractor for the kids to play with and a swing in a barn that the boys liked. Daniel and Liam got to pick pumpkins too :)

Saying goodbye

We're moving to Las Vegas next month so we took the boys down. to Rhode Island to visit my grandma and aunt and uncle one more time. I wanted to see my grandma and the boys were excited to see great grandma.

We got there early and picked my grandma up. We decided to go to a park by her house. We had peanut butter banana bread for breakfast and played at the playground for a while. We had an interesting time at the park. Their were people at the park taking down trees which Daniel was obsessed with watching.

Daniel also announced on the way to great grandmas that he wants to be a bridge builder when he grows up. So he played with the digger toy almost the whole time we were there and said he was building a bridge. It was so cute to watch him play with it and dig and every few minutes he would run over to great grandma and ask her if she was still watching him. Daniel was especially excited to play with great grandma! His face when he saw her get in the car was pure joy :)

Watching trees be cut down
After the park we went to my Aunt Pam's and Uncle Barry's house. The boys had fun playing outside and watching Bolt while we all sat around and chatted. It was a really nice visit.

The boys were sad to say goodbye to great grandma. Daniel was crying cause great grandma wasn't coming home with him. They gave everyone lots of hugs and kisses.

On our way out we stopped at the Veteran's Memorial cemetery so I could stop at my papa's grave before we move.

The boys were so tired by the time we headed home. Between waking up super early and playing so much all day they were exhausted! They both slept for a couple hours on the way home.

We got a nice group picture too :)

Park time

Mike went out of town last weekend and before he left we took the boys to the park in Portland. It was a nice park minus all the duck poop by the pond.

Power outage

Last Thursday was an exciting day. Around lunch time a crazy storm blew in. The thunder was super loud and we couldn't see through the rain. I was worried the trees in our yard would blow over because the wind was so strong. The storm only lasted about 10 minutes but our power went out. At first I thought it would just be out for a little while but after about 5 hours I was pretty sure it wasn't coming back any time soon. We checked online and 14,000 people were without power in Brunswick.

Dinner was interesting since we basically just ate whatever was in the fridge that we could without cooking it. We checked online and they thought the power would be back on at 10pm. Mike found out why we didn't have power when he came home from work. Our street was closed to through traffic and he saw that a big tree had fallen at the end of our street and knocked power lines down.

That night was interesting. I just had pb&j for dinner and mike had cold hot dogs. We lit some candles and got flashlights and sat and played Sorry and Uno.

The power didn't come back on at 10 so we went to bed. When we woke up in the morning we still didn't have power or water. After a rough day and a rough night we went to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast :)

We spent the morning out of the house and when we went home a nap time we were happy to see that the power and the water were back!
