Christmas cookies

We made so many cookies during the month of December. We gave a lot to friends but we also ate a lot! We saved the best for last though- Santa cookies! (aka frosted sugar cookies)

Christmas Eve

We had a great Christmas Eve this year! The boys were so excited! We decided to do our nativity activity and talk about Jesus's birth in the morning before they were too excited. Our evening was a little crazier. Stacey came over to spend the night so she would be here with us on Christmas morning. Daniel was so excited to have a sleepover with Aunt Stacey.

She came over after dinner and we did our traditional grinch kabobs and we watch the animated How the Grinch Stole Christmas! It is my favorite holiday movie! After the movie the boys were asking to go to bed. (Can it be Christmas Eve every night???) We had to beg them to stay up so we could read Twas the Night Before Christmas and set out the cookies for Santa and the reindeer food.

They both went straight to bed with Daniel reminding us that he had to hurry and go to sleep so Santa could come!

Harry Potter

Right before Christmas the library in Summerlin did a Harry Potter event. Even though the boys have never seen or read Harry Potter I decided to take them to check it out. I love Harry Potter so it was fun to see it. The library did a great job! The whole place was decorated and they had so much stuff to do. The boys had fun even if they didn't understand everything.

First we went to Flourish and Blotts and got our spell books. The boys got to made a Standard Book of spells (with the real spells inside) and we also made the Monster Book of Monsters! Daniel even got some Butterbeer!

House Points

While we walked around the boys and I did a scavenger hunt to find all the horcruxes. We also got to make wands. The boys really liked making brooms and their own golden snitches. I tried to explain quiddich but I'm sure my kids were the only ones who thought the brooms were for sweeping. They also had a photo booth which was my favorite part!
