Easter decorations

Since we have no school and no where to go...we had lots of time the week before Easter to make decorations.

Our first project was to make a carrot garden. So the boys used their feet to make carrots and I colored our bunny :)

Next we wanted to make a chick family. So for the babies the boys used hand prints and then the big ones were made with construction paper, hand prints and foot prints :)

Now I know lots of people dye eggs for Easter. The problem for us is that no one wants to eat them so its a waste to hard boil all those eggs to dye them and throw them out. So this year we painted and colored eggs a different way.

We made great big eggs and the boys got to do potato stamping with paint which they loved!

Then we colored some smaller eggs too :)

lets go fly a kite

The boys got kites from the easter bunny this year. So the next day we went out to fly them. Sadly, Liams paw patrol one was broken but dan was willing to share his buzz lightyear kite. Daniel was so excited! I love the pure joy on his face. Liam was a little bummed about his but I think he still had fun seeing how high buzz could go.

new toys

To say we're all getting sick of quarantine would be an understatement. We had a nice tender mercy from the Lord this week when I found some toys the boys got for Christmas that we never opened and played with! So we've spent the last couple of days feeling like its Christmas with these brand new toys. Liam is loving his fire truck and Dan is having fun with the dinosaur race track and the fire truck. They also got some new hot wheels monster trucks which they've loved. They've even been sharing the toys!

Also its been so nice and warm this week that they've gotten to play outside everyday which it awesome!

dan and school

Daniel is doing so well with his school at home. He does ask everyday if he is getting to go back soon but he's still working really hard. Much to Mike's dismay Dan is learning to tell time now but its also much to see him point out the time wherever we go. His writing is getting better when he slows down. I'm also super impressed that his speech teacher is doing virtual classes with him once a week. Dan gets super excited to see Mrs. Kimball and is doing great with his lessons with her.

Its been fun to do more science with him and to really see what he likes to do and what works. Liam is a bit of a problem because if its a video then Liam wants to be around for it but thats a distraction so we're working on it. This week we've been learning about insects which I'll be happy to move on from but at least his favorite is the ladybug which isn't big and scary.

General Conference

The boys were so excited for conference this year! They were counting down the days. I'm thinking this was about 98% due to the fact that they got to sit in the tent and eat donuts but hey I'll take it. This year we got smart and brought one of the boys mattresses inside the tent which made it so much more comfortable. We had lots of activities for the boys which worked about as long as you'd expect.

Conference was great though! I'm so happy that even though things are crazy right now we were able to have it :)

If you don't know, Liam loves Paw Patrol. Its his very favorite thing. We watch it all the time and if you get a fact about the show wrong he is quick to correct you. His favorite pup is Rubble but he really loves them all. He loves them so much that if food in the store is Paw Patrol themed then he wants it. So when he saw Paw Patrol graham crackers he asked for them. I said no for a couple weeks because we still had lots of scooby doo graham crackers. Once we ran out though we got some and he immediately asked to hold the box while we shopped and he held it all the way home in the car and put them away himself.

Oh if only we could all be this happy and this easily pleased!

sprinklers

The boys had so much fun with their cousins for a week at the beginning of April. We did our PE lessons with them everyday. One day the sprinklers were on along the trail where we walked and the kids had so much fun playing in them. Dan was soaked in seconds and Liam tried but preferred to watch. Liam did like watching the other kids though :) We even found rainbows in the water.
