Daniel's 2nd Birthday!!!

 I can't believe my baby is already 2! I was having some serious emotional breakdowns over this birthday. Although I will admit that my emotions were at an all time high since I had literally just given birth to my second boy just a few days before but still it made me really sad. I think it hit me that Daniel isn't such a little baby anymore when I saw him next to Liam...suddenly he looked like a big boy!

I was determined to make this birthday special for him. I know he won't remember it but I will and I didn't want his birthday to get overlooked just because he got a new brother for a present :) This year Dan's birthday fell on Memorial Day so we made May 30th a special day for our special boy!

We started the day by eating bananas and reading books! Daniel was so happy when he got up and wanted to read his Little Blue Truck book over and over. He actually got it on his last birthday. He also loves bananas and we couldn't start his birthday without one :)

Then we went out for a less healthy breakfast...to Donut Mania! I figured his birthday was a great day for him to have his first donut! He had a yummy banana cream pie donut and loved every bite :) I'm glad he didn't have the Reece's Pieces donut like me cause that was a sugar overload!

After the donut, Mike and I took Dan to the splash pad by our house. Daniel loves water but we didn't know how he'd do with a big sprinkler since he doesn't like showers and this is basically a big shower. We had the pad to ourselves and Dan was a little hesitant at first but once he got sprayed by Mike and was good and wet, he was so happy to play in the water!

 Then we had lunch and Daniel took a very nice birthday nap and so did Mike and I :) After naps we kept up the theme of the day with a kiddie pool in the back yard!

The day ended with presents and cake! We just got Daniel a big cupcake from the store since he doesn't love cake and we still had a lot of cake leftover from celebrating my birthday. We skyped my mom and dad during presents which was fun.

Daniel wasn't a huge fan of his cake but one thing is certain...he loved the frosting!!! He just smiled and smiled while we all sang to him and then we blew out the candles and he shoved the cupcake in his face!

Happy Birthday Daniel! We love you so much! You bring so much joy to our family and we can't imagine our family without you in it! You make everyone smile who is around you. You're the sweetest, smartest and most handsome little two year old in the world!
