What a Birthday!!!

I think my 26th birthday was the most exciting birthday I've had so far! I had lots of plans for my birthday this year. I knew I would be almost 39 weeks pregnant but I still wanted to have fun. So basically I had planned to go hang out with a friend in the morning and bake and decorate cakes (she was baking mine and Daniel's birthday cakes) and then while Daniel was napping Mike and I were going to go hang out down on the strip and explore Caesars Palace :) Then home for black bean pizza for dinner and lots of cake and ice cream and maybe a movie of my choosing. I was pretty excited! You know what they say about planning things though.....

I didn't get to do any of those things since my body decided to have a baby instead haha so I spent my birthday (only about 190 minutes of it) having a baby! Then I spent the rest in a hospital :( I don't mind that I had a baby on my birthday but I was annoyed that I had to sit in a hospital all day. Mike did his best to make the day nice for me though. He went and got subway for lunch so I got yummy cookies :) and his mom made us a yummy dinner to eat at the hospital (who wants hospital food for their birthday...no one) and we had ice cream for dessert. I also got to cuddle my baby boy :)

I did get to celebrate my birthday on Sunday though! I had cinnamon rolls for breakfast and I got my black bean pizza for dinner and of course cake and ice cream! So, I had two cakes for this birthday. My friend Rachel offered to bake my cake. When she asked me what kind I wanted I thought of a funfetti cake but I also really wanted a German chocolate cake. The problem was that I didn't think anyone else would want the chocolate and Mike's mom doesn't eat chocolate so I told Rachel to just go ahead and do the funfetti. She surprised me by telling me that she did both!! I was so excited!!

It ended up being an inspired decision. Since Liam was born on my birthday we said that Rachel must have known he was coming so one cake was mine (the chocolate) and the funfetti was actually a birthday cake for Liam :)

YUMMMM!!!

So the cakes were delicious! I also got some very nice gifts from my family :) The nicest gift was a healthy baby boy though! Year 25 was a good year...let's hope 26 is an awesome year!
