We spent all day Monday on campus. We started with the Taylor building. Mike proposed to me in this building (room 146) because its where we met. For some reason we forgot to take a picture in the room while we were in Rexburg so I wanted to be sure we did it on this trip. We also got to see the quad all done which was so pretty.
We asked one of the students leaving the classroom to take our picture really quick before the next class which he thought was strange but then cute once we explained that we weren't just wandering the campus taking pictures in random classrooms.
We went to the Romney building where Mike lived when we were at school (he really just slept at home) and we saw a couple of his old teachers. We also took Dan and Liam to the geology museum. They thought the rocks were cool but the true highlight was the fish tank.
Then we went to the library, specifically the tutoring department. Mike worked there for a couple years tutoring chemistry and Brother Gentry was his boss.
We learned something about Daniel on this trip too. He is a great walker but if he has the opportunity to ride he will and if its too hot then he will kick his brother out of stroller and go for a ride. Thank goodness Melissa had an extra stroller or we wouldn't have been able to do all the walking we did. We dragged them up and down campus all day but they were troopers and everyone thought they were adorable which helps to hear when you're tired.
Monday was a great day for two reasons. I'll get to one of them later but the first amazing thing that happened was entirely by chance. Don't you love when wonderful and unexpected things happen!?
We were having lunch at the Crossroads when Mike suddenly saw someone very familiar a couple tables away and they were heading out. It was his mission president and his wife, President and Sister Bennion! Mike left Dan at the table and ran over to catch them. It was so great to see them and I loved meeting them. Two years ago when we were in New York we tried to see them at the temple where they were serving at temple president but we missed them by just a few minutes. So this was a wonderful surprise to see them while they were visiting family for the 4th of July. I know it made Mike's day!
