Summer trip- day 4 part 2: Yellowstone

On our way north to Mammoth Hot Springs we ran into construction traffic which Mike did not enjoy but I'm glad we persevered through it because mammoth was a cool place.

First we saw Liberty cap.

Then we saw the beautiful Mammoth Terraces which we amazing!

The boys liked all the yellow water

As we were leaving to go to the Lamar Valley we saw some wildlife! Some nice young elk :)

The drive to Lamar Valley was beautiful and the scenery was constantly changing. We saw lots of buffalo and a couple coyote.

Our last hike of the day was the Canary Springs hike. Beautiful and smelly but that distance was not accurate...it was much farther.

We got back late so we decided to change our dinner plans and just do pizza pockets again and roast marshmallows.

I wish I'd thought to go to the lodge to get chocolate...a s'more without chocolate isn't a s'more

It was a fun and tiring day. I was ready for bed but Gibbon Falls was definitely the highlight for me and just seeing all the beautiful scenery as we drove :)
