Summer trip- day 4:Yellowstone

Our first night in Yellowstone went alright. I slept which was surprising. We had to wake Dan up at 9am because he was still out and Liam slept past 8am! The boys both slept super well the first night although Liam did struggle to stay on his bed and in his sleeping bag so often grandma just had to cover him with a blanket.

First morning- good thing he was on the bottom

We had oatmeal and muffins for breakfast before heading out to the park. It was beautiful weather, just a little chilly first thing in the morning.

Our first stop was Gibbon Falls. This was one of my favorite places we visited. I love the waterfalls and canyons in Yellowstone. Pictures don't do the view justice. Now see the river and try not to sing a little chorus of "just around the river bend"...we did :)

Then we made our way to North toward Mammoth Hot Springs but on the way we saw a trail for Artist paint pots so we stopped to check it out. It was a short little hike and Daniel used his compass to show us the way. We saw some little geysers, mud and hot springs.
