Two Months

Daniel's stats this month were:
Weight: 11 lb 3 oz
Height: 21 inches
He is growing perfectly!

- He still loves bath time and has only cried during one.

- He is such a good eater. When its time to eat he doesn't mess around. We sit down and he downs 4-5 oz in 10 minutes and we're done. He does spit up a bit though. He eats every 3 to 4 hrs during the day which is great.

- He is a loud sleeper! Luckily he sleeps in his own crib so we can sleep too but he can also sleep through just about everything (including a 4th of July fireworks show) which is nice.

- He is getting really close to being able to hold his head up. He is our strong little boy.

- He is still able to wear some newborn clothes and is also wearing some 0-3 month things but they are a little big on him still.

- He really enjoys his play mat. It is probably his favorite thing to lay under it and try and hit the toys. Its my favorite thing to do with him too :)

- His sleep patterns are getting more and more consistent. For the most part he only gets up once a night. He'll sleep for 5 to 6 hours almost every night which is AWESOME! Normally he's down by 8:30 then up by 7:30 the next morning with 2 feedings in between (3 if he's having a rough night). Thankfully he's usually pretty easy to put back down at night. He is still taking 2 to 3 hour naps during the day too which is nice.

- He loves to move! Unless its time to sleep, he likes to be moving. That means that the rock and play must be rocked if he's in it and isn't in a deep sleep and he likes to be bounced or rocked in a rocking chair and if he's laying down then he is always moving his legs. Its really cute to watch him!

- He is a LOUD burper/tooter/pooper. Really. It would be embarrassing if it wasn't so funny (to me).

- He loves riding in the car. It is so easy to take him places because he enjoys the rides in the car and does really well being in stores and parks and stuff. Its so funny though because when we get in the car its seriously a few seconds and his eyes are closed and he's out. I'm so happy he likes to travel so far and I hope he continues to enjoy it because we love going places!

- He smiles at random times (its the cutest thing in the world) and is starting to coo more often. Its so fun to see him try and talk. Sometimes we just sit and say "hi" over and over until he tries to talk.

We love you Daniel! We can't believe you've only been here two months, it feels like you've always been with us!

Daniel's Newborn Photos pt1

When Daniel was about 1 month old we were finally able to have our friend Stephanie (who took our pictures in the hospital) come and do Dan's newborn pictures. It took a few hours but Dan was a champ through it all. He was asleep at the beginning but he woke up and really didn't want to have his picture taken and he really didn't want to pose so it took awhile. He's going to have to get used to having his picture taken though since his mom loves the camera and taking pictures!

We had so much fun taking pictures in his nursery but it'll probably be a little while before we take more family pictures. Looking at these pictures makes me so sad that he has already gotten so big and I swear he has grown more in the past few weeks since these were taken.

Daniel's Newborn Photoshoot pt2

Once Daniel was awake he was happy but he is a busy boy so it took forever to get pictures of him because he didn't want to be still :) We ended up with some really cute pictures though...I had a hard time choosing because I just love them all!

Daniel has started to get all of my kisses....making Mike sad.

We had a lot fun doing these but I'm so glad we got them done now because he is getting so big. He is so sweet and cute. I could stare at that face all day!

Family Pictures

As much as I love holding Daniel, I also love to see other people hold him. Specifically, it was fun to see Dan with his Uncle Josh. Josh wears bright shirts and Dan was drawn to them. He loved to look at Josh then back to the shirt. It was sweet to see the two of them together. I think Dan really enjoyed all of the attention.

Oh and I just love Mike's Lion King moment :)

Nursery Reveal

Our little Daniel is sweet, adorable, makes funny faces, loves to talk and all kinds of other wonderful things but he is also the noisiest sleeper and eater in the world. Since he is noisy when he sleeps, it keeps me up at night. So he is sleeping for 4 hrs straight but I'm not. So because of this we moved Dan into his room and thankfully he really seems to like his crib and so we're all sleeping better :)

I love his nursery though. We really couldn't do too much since we're limited by the fact that we live in an apartment so we can't paint and I really wanted to limit the amount of stuff we hung up. I really like how it turned out though. We decided to decorate the room in blue and green with the theme being planes, trains and automobiles. Mike made a model plane and car for our little Dan. Mike got a train when his grandpa passed away and so we used it as a nice decoration in the room. We also asked Daniel's Aunt Stacey to paint a picture of a train for the nursery. It turned out beautifully and I love it!

Dan likes to look at his airplane while we change him :)
The picture Aunt Stacey painted :)

Playtime

We started doing tummy time with Dan a couple weeks ago. He loves his playmat! He is starting to use his fist a little to try and hit the hanging toys but mostly he just likes the colors. He really likes tummy time too and is getting so much stronger. He can hold his head up for a few seconds then he gets tired and puts it back down or to the side if we're holding him.

Happy 4th of July!

We had a great 4th of July this year! We had Daniel of course and it was fun to celebrate his first real holiday but we also had my family come up to Spartanburg for the weekend. We started the day by going to the church for breakfast and games and it was a lot of fun. We ate some amazing food and Mike and Josh played tug of war.

After the church we went home and played games and went for a nice walk and then we ate some more awesome food! We decided to do the big meal for lunch because we knew that our evening was going to be really busy.

This how Dan spent his afternoon :)
For Mike and I (but especially Mike) it just isn't Independence Day without fireworks. So rather than just doing some lame ones here, I tried to find a show that we could go see. I found out that Greenville just a festival with games, rides, concerts and a fireworks show at the end.

Daniel spent his evening with Grandma. He was cuddled and protected from the crowds. He was such a trooper the whole night. He was awake a lot but was a happy boy. Then once the fireworks started he fell asleep..silly boy :) The rest of us really enjoyed the atmosphere and had fun listening to the music and just being out of the house. The fireworks show was a little shorter than we're used to but it was really good. All in all it was a great July 4th filled with good food, good company and lots of fun :) It was a great way to celebrate this wonderful country that we're blessed to live in and the freedoms that we enjoy.
