Valley of Fire

Last weekend we wanted to go hiking so we decided to go to Zions. When we got there we found out all the parking in the park was full (we got there at 9am) so we had to find parking around the town but we didn't want to pay the ridiculous parking fees especially since we could've parked for free if they had more parking in the park. So we turned around the drove back towards Vegas and went to the Valley of Fire.

The park was beautiful! Dan loved hiking and climbing up the rocks on the sides of the trail. Liam got to ride in the back pack and he was lucky. The trails were sand which made them difficult and more exhausting to walk on. Good thing it wasn't too hot. The first hike we did ended at a little pool of water and the boys got to throw rocks in the water.

After our hike we stopped and had a picnic. Then we tried one more hike but we didn't get far before it got too steep and tricky to do with the boys so we turned back and just drove around the park. Dan had the right idea to walk along the rocks on the side...made the hike much easier. We did get to see lots of the famous petroglyphs on our hikes.

end of preschool

Thats a wrap! Daniel has finished preschool! He has grown so much in the last 6 months. He was in a special speech program and he did so well and loved every minute of it. His speech has gotten so much better and he is so much more confident with his speech, writing and reading.

beginning of school :)
All done! :)

Daniel and Mrs. Stevens

Most of his class :)
Daniel loves his teacher and all of his friends. He is so excited to go to kindergarten. Right now he doesn't quite understand the concept of summer break. He thinks he's going to school next week and I'm pretty sure he wants to :) He loves to go to school and I love this phase of wanting to go to school. He is going to miss his friends but hopefully we can stay in touch because dan will be at a different school next year. I know he'll have fun this summer though and I know Liam is happy to have his brother home.

reading superheroes

We got to go to a fun event put on by the libraries and schools to promote summer reading. The boys had lots of fun and got to dress up as superheroes. It was so cute to watch them fly around and call each other super Daniel and super Liam. We even got some free books :)
