Summer trip- day 9: heading home

Sunday morning we were up around 7am to pack up and head back home to Vegas. I think by this point we were all ready to be home in our own beds. We got breakfast again and headed out around 8am. We planned to make a couple stops on the way home just to break up the trip.

The first stop was the Manti Temple. Grandma Kate and Papa J got married here. The boys were sad they couldn't play on the big hill. They did have fun at the flower garden though because they saw 4 butterflies that they had fun chasing.

The next stop was St George. This was a much needed stop because it had been a rough drive. First we stopped to see how the temple is coming along. The boys loved seeing all the construction trucks at the temple. Then we got subway again for lunch and a special treat. We went to Iceberg and got huge milkshakes! Mike got raspberry, Kate got peach, I got cheesecake and Dan got chocolate. They were huge and delicious! Dan only ate about a 4th of his and Mike and I couldn't finish it after we finished ours. We will definitely be making another trip up for these! By the way, these pictures were after we had all eaten some of the ice cream and we got Liam a chocolate chip cookie because he isn't an ice cream fan.

It was nice to get home. We had a great time on our trip!

Summer trip- day 8: Ogden and Logan

On Saturday we spent the day in Ogden and Logan. We also took a little trip down to Salt Lake. It was nice staying at the Hampton Inn because we got free breakfast. It was all grab and go which made it easy to get out and have some fun in the morning.

Our first stop was the Ogden Dinosaur Park. The museum was still closed but the outside dinosaur sculpture garden was open. It was fun to walk around and see all the dinosaurs.

Next we drove up to Logan. We saw the temple and also went on a little hike in the mountains.

After the hike we went back to Ogden and got subway for lunch. Then we went to the Ogden Union Station. We got there about a half hour before they closed so we didn't pay to do the museums but we did walk around and see the trains they had outside for free. The boys thought they were cool- especially Daniel.

This one was Daniel's favorite

Liam's favorite- it even matches his shirt

Our plan after the museum was to ride the trax train from ogden to salt lake so the boys could ride a train that goes fast but they had to wear stupid masks to ride so we decided to drive down to salt lake instead. We took the boys to see Ensign Peak and Heritage Park. Mike, Dan and I climbed to the first view point on Ensign Peak which Dan just kept saying "this is a beautiful view!"

After Salt Lake we headed back to Ogden for dinner at Zaxby's, which was delicious, and then our hotel so we could all get to bed a bit earlier. Liam must not have been tired enough though cause he stayed up until Mike and I went to bed too around 11.
