Happy 5 months Mr. Magoo!

Our little Liam is 5 months old! Since life has been crazy with moving, we haven't gotten a new pediatrician yet so I have no idea what his stats are :( He sure is cute though!

- He is wearing size 2 diapers and 6 month clothes for the most part. The 6 month stuff is a little big but its not too bad.

- He is starting to grab his toes and try to eat them and he is so close to being able to roll onto his belly. He is getting really good at sitting up and it probably won't be long before he's doing it all by himself.

- He loves his swing and his bumbo. He has also started sleeping in his crib. He still likes to be swaddled when he sleeps. He also loves his play mat. His favorite toy is the lion much to his brothers disappointment.

- Liam is "talking" all the time now. He loves to play and be with people. He is still my observant little boy. He is doing much better in the car now that we've taken the car seat cover off and let him look around. Its making is so much easier to go places but he still doesn't sleep in his seat like Daniel used to if we aren't actually driving.

- Liam loves music especially when people sing to him.

- He is such a happy boy. Liam has the biggest smile and the best laugh. He really only cries when he is hungry, tired or when he is finally sick of wherever he is playing. He loves to watch Daniel play which is a great distraction for now.

- He is so close to rolling over onto his belly. He is also starting to push forward when he's on his belly. I hope this doesn't mean we're going to have an early crawler.

- He is a great eater! He still hasn't started solids but we probably will start doing that soon. He is still getting up once a night. Sometimes he will sleep through the night but usually wakes up between 3am and 5am to eat. He is starting to sleep in his crib more though.

Jump!

Daniel learned to jump recently and since then he has been jumping all over the house. He also loves jumping on the bed (anyone's bed really). So when we found out that the Hangtime trampoline park in Orem does a preschool jump session we knew we had to go. Basically the whole trampoline park is only open for preschool age kids for 2 hours in the morning. They play only Disney music during that two hours and its awesome because they have the whole place to themselves. When we got there Dan was only one of 4 kids and by the time we left and hour and a half later there were only 10 kids total jumping in the whole place. Daniel and I had so much fun jumping! This will definitely be a repeat experience.

The funniest part of the morning was that with a whole trampoline park to play in, the kids all followed each other around. So much fun!

Jaker's Pumpkin Patch

We found a cute little pumpkin patch right near our house. We've been twice and the second time we went with some new friends. They have a lot of fun stuff for kids. Daniel's favorite part is the corn pit. He loves burying himself in it, we just have to make sure he doesn't throw it. He loves the animals too and also loved the hay ride. Daniel also got to pick out the pumpkin and had so much fun climbing on the big piles of pumpkins.

This was our second time going to the pumpkin patch and this time we went with friends. We went with Jenna and her little girl Rose who is Dan's age. Its cute to see them play together and its also nice for me to get to spend time with a friend too. Dan and Rose had fun doing the hay maze together and they were pretty good at it.

We had a lot of fun! The only downside to the day was that it ended up being a lot warmer than we expected but thankfully the kids didn't mind.

San Francisco

Mike has started working with a coach to help him start his chiropractic business. The name of the group is New Beginnings and at the beginning of October they had a conference in San Francisco. It was just one day so we debated how we would get there. At first we were going to fly but we waited too long to get tickets so we decided to drive. It was about 12 hours to San Francisco but we were up for it. I was excited because it was my first trip to Northern California!

We left super early in the morning and had a lot of fun driving to San Francisco. The drive was really pretty. The best part was driving from Reno to Sacramento. We stopped at Donner Lake which was beautiful. The pictures didn't do the scenery justice.

Reno, NV Temple

Getting into San Francisco was interesting. California never fails to amaze me with its horrible traffic but San Francisco may have been the worst. We went across the Bay Bridge (which took forever) into Oakland and let me tell you...you couldn't pay me to go back to Oakland. I have never been so scared in a city or so disgusted by what I saw. I was so happy to leave and go back into San Francisco. We found out the next morning that their was a baseball game on Friday night so the traffic in the opposite direction was awful. When we finally made it to our hotel we were ready to relax. We stayed at a 5 star hotel that is usually over $600 a night. It was nice but really nothing spectacular. We hit the gym as soon as we got there because after 12 hours in a car it felt good to move. Then we got dinner and ate in our hotel room, in our pj's and watched Gilmore Girls :) A lovely and relaxing evening. Then the best part was that we went to bed early and slept for 8 hours completely uninterrupted!

The conference was on Saturday and it was awesome! I was worried that I would be bored because I'm not a chiropractor but they did a great job showing how the principles and skills you use to be a better chiropractor can also help you to be a better spouse, parent and just overall person.

"You must surrender who you are, to become who you were meant to be!"

"My attitude determines my altitude and I choose to fly very high"

"I am not raising wolves. I am not raising sheep. I am raising sheep dogs- they protect the sheep from the wolves"

We headed for home that night. I had two requests of things to do on this very short trip. One was to see the Golden Gate bridge and actually drive across it and the second was to see the house that they used for the exterior of the house in Full House.

Driving to see the house was kind of fun because I got to experience some of the famous San Francisco hills. The roads are scary though and don't make any sense. The house was fun to see though! I love that they put up a gate so people would stop sitting on the steps haha but I bet its annoying having people constantly taking pictures of your house.

The Golden Gate Bridge was amazing! It didn't disappoint for sure! It was bigger than I expected and it was beautiful in the sunshine.

The city

Alcatraz

Instead of driving through the night we stopped halfway in Winnemucca, NV. Mike did great on the drive though.

On the way home we stopped at the Bonneville Salt Flats. I was a bit sad because most of it was covered in water. It was really pretty though but a little bright.

It was a great trip and got us all fired up for opening Mike's practice here in Utah!
