Joshua Tree part 3

Our last hike of the day was the Barker Dam hike. It ended up being a 1.5 mile hike because again we got a little lost because of poorly marked trails. It was fun to see a dam and a lake in the desert. Again the boys asked if the rock giants were going to come break the dam like in frozen.

my favorite spot

Once we started to head home the boys drew on their tablets for a bit but then Liam went to sleep and Dan just relaxed and read books for most of the drive home. You can tell we all got some sun and turned a little pink. We had lots of fun though.

Joshua Tree part 2

We made a stop at the Keys View outlook. Its a beautiful stop but it was super windy and actually the only time I was cold at the park.

These are all over the park- I really like them

On our way back down we stopped at a cluster of Joshua trees and tried out the tripod for a family picture and some pictures of the boys with the trees. I'm sure it looked crazy to see us jumping around and I was so happy to be wearing pants so my legs didn't get scratched by all the grass and tumbleweeds. The trees are pretty impressive and some are really big.

Next we did the Cottonwood Spring hike. This was the boys favorite hike. They love Frozen 2 and one of their favorite parts are the rock giants. So the whole time we were on this hike they pretended the rocks were sleeping rock giants, so they whispered everything. So cute!
