morning walks

This morning we went on a nice walk with our visiting family. Dan got to ride a scooter which he thought was so much fun and Liam spent most of the time riding in the wagon. The boys learned about wheelbarrow races and Liam got really into it. It was a nice walk and a good chance for everyone to run around. The kids played tag, hide and seek and had fun giving each other rides in the wagon.

Picnic

When its the first beautiful day in a couple weeks you have to get outside. So today we went to the park for a picnic. Now because of covid-19 the boys can't actually play on the playground but we can sit in the grass and run and play. So we had a yummy lunch with our cousins, grandma kate and aunt debbie and then the kids ran and played. Liam was almost glued to Max and Daniel loves riding the scooters more than just about anything else. These boys are going to be sad when their cousins leave. Hopefully this is just the start of beautiful days and we can do this more.

Gold Butte

We found somewhere to go! After being pretty much home bound for a couple weeks, we wanted to find somewhere we could go this past weekend. So Mike suggested we go hiking at Gold Butte. So we got up early in the morning to drive the 120 ish miles. It was an easy drive until the last 40 or so. Then the road ended and everything became gravel. Then we had to go super slow but at least it was pretty. We also saw a lot of cows. We even saw some big bulls taking care of their babies.

The park is really pretty and we had it all to ourselves. The boys had fun collecting sticks which they said was firewood. We also found we could see Valley of Fire from the top of a mountain we got to the top of. We also met a man who had some horses. He even had a mustang who was huge and very pretty. The boys did a great job hiking and didn't ask to be carried once. I lost track of how many times Liam fell while trying to climb but everytime he just said "I'm alright" and got back up and kept going. The funniest was when we were almost to the top of a mountain and he fell and I asked if he was ok and he said "yes I can do it" and Daniel turns and looks at him and says "no I don't think he can" and then took off running up the mountain. We all made it though and the views were excellent.

As beautiful as it was, it had one drawback...absolutely no where to go to the bathroom. At least we'll know for next time.
