Last Saturday we took the boys to the M&M store on the strip and to the Hershey store :)

snow day

It's been a strange winter here in Vegas. Its been colder than normal and we've had lots of rain. We even had a snow day. The boys were super excited to see the snow but I wasn't. I stopped being excited about snow my first semester of college. So Daniel missed school because lets be honest people in Vegas struggle with driving in the rain so I wasn't going out in the snow.

It was fun seeing the boys happy though :)

nice people

Liam and I had a fun day at the mall yesterday and made some friends. We went to the mall and their was just one other little boy playing who was about Liam's age and they quickly became friends. This little friend was there with his great grandma Dixie who was so sweet and made me miss my grandma so we started talking while the boys played. One of the things we talked about was how much both boys loved watching the train that runs around the mall. Every time they heard the whistle they would stop playing and run to watch the train come back to the station.

After a while Dixie said she was going to take her great grandson on the train and asked if Liam and I would like to come. Now I know Liam would love to ride the train but at $4 a person I never wanted to pay for it. When I didn't immediately respond she said "please come, don't worry I'll pay for it. I'd love for the boys to go together and we can keep talking". So we gladly accepted and the boys had so much fun on the train! I was only able to get one picture because the rest of the time the boys were turned around waving to people out the window :)

I know we may never see them again but it was one of the most enjoyable hours I've had this week. It was so nice to make a friend and for Liam to make a friend. It's also nice to have reminders that their are kind people in this world who are kind just because they want to be and not because they have to.

Thank you Dixie for making the day of a 2 year old boy who has been talking about it all week and my day too :)

stacey birthday

Aunt Stacey had a birthday this past week and we had a little party at Kaytie's house. I got to make the dessert which meant angel food cake. I decided to be ambitious and make it myself. So I practiced a week before and it turned out great! Mike and I made the cake the day before the party and it turned out so fluffy! Daniel was so excited about it and for a day all he could talk about was how happy stacey would be about the cake. He just kept saying, "Stacey will be soooo happy".

It was a fun party with yummy food and fun games. I think the cake was a hit too since their wasn't any left :)

valentines day

We had a nice Valentines Day this year. It was Daniel's first time in school for the holiday so he got to go to school and have a party! He was so excited to give valentines to his friends. He was even more excited to come home and show us all his treats and cards from his friends :)

Liam and I had a fun morning at home. We went out and got donuts which is our tradition and also made lots of other yummy treats! Mike got me flowers which are beautiful. We went out on a date the Saturday after to the temple and chick fil a and got nothing bundt cakes for dessert!

playground

We've had a lot of rain in Vegas lately so we have been trying to find fun indoor stuff to do with the kids on the weekend. Last weekend we found an indoor playground across from the airport. Its called Kangamoo and it was lots of fun! The boys played for over 2 hours and loved every minute of it!

They have slides, lots of little tyke cars and outdoor playhouses. They have tunnels and lots of stuff to climb. Since the boys are little monkeys they had so much fun climbing all over the place. Liam found a little ball after about an hour and for the rest of the time we were there he carried that ball around. I asked if I could hold the ball while he climbed up the stairs and the ramps but he was determined to do it with the ball and he did!

January fun

Aren't these boys cute! We had lots of fun in January. Lots of trips to the library, lots of afternoons playing with play doh and reading books.

He likes being swaddled :)

Daniel asked why he couldn't put his head through the bars and I told him it was because a smart builder made sure he couldn't. He wants to build a bridge like this one :)

Disney on Ice

We won ticket to Disney on Ice at the end of December! We were so excited! Even though it was a princess focused show the boys still enjoyed it. They performed 5 different movies: Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Tangled, Frozen and Moana.

They opened with Beauty and the Beast which is one of the boys favorite movies and my favorite for sure :)

 Tangled was probably my favorite because it was so impressive and had lots of acrobatics. They were spinning around on her hair. Liam loved the horse!

 During the intermission we went out and got the boys a treat. So we got them snow cones! Liam carried that cup around the rest of the night and he still loves his Beast cup.

Frozen and Moana were really good too.

It was a great night! It was so sweet to see how excited the boys were and Liam was especially excited and was singing the songs all the way home. Daniel loved the show but was sad when it was over and realized he hadn't gotten to see Buzz. So maybe we'll have to do another show with Buzz :)
