School

I just wanted to share a little update on Dan's school. He is doing so well! I'm so glad we decided to place him in this speech program. It has done so much for his confidence and his speech, not to mention his social skills too.

His speech has improved so much over the last couple months. He tries to say everything and their are so many things that he could never say that he says all the time now like orange and and really any word with an 'r'. He absolutely loves practicing his words. Everyday he comes home and shares his words with me and Liam. He also loves doing speech with Liam. He'll get his flashcards and sit with Liam and listen to him practice. Its super cute! Right now he's on track to be able to start kindergarten this fall but he'll still get pulled out for speech. He is so confident now though. It used to be that he wouldn't even try to say new words but now he will and doesn't even tell me its too hard very often anymore. We're so proud of him :)

He also loves his teacher. We have officially entered the age of his teacher being more awesome than mommy and daddy. He is always saying that he can't wait to show his teacher things. He got a haircut and told us that he hoped his teacher liked it. He came home with a birthday party invitation and told me that he could go because his teacher said he could. Its super sweet and its also so sweet to hear him talk about his friends. Every night he prays for his friends which is so sweet.

I know he won't always love school and he definitely won't always be so excited to do his homework but for now its awesome!

warm weather

I love this warm weather! I love taking the boys outside everyday!

9 years

I can't believe Mike and I have been married 9 years. Sometimes I can't believe its already been 9 years and sometimes I can't believe its only been 9 years because it feels like too much has happened since we got married to have only been 9 years. Its been quite the adventure though! 9 years, 7 apartments, 5 states, 4 jobs and  2 sweet kids. I can't wait to see what adventures are still to come and I wouldn't want to do them with anyone else! Love you Mike!

We had a quiet anniversary this year. We went on a nice date to the temple. We had lots of treats over the weekend and on the day we had Chinese food for dinner (nothing says happy anniversary like not having to cook or do dishes) and Mike surprised me with a dozen roses :)

birthday party

Daniel got invited to his first birthday party. One of his friends from school turned 5 and we all went to the party. They had a bounce castle which Daniel loved! Liam didn't like bouncing but it was a race car party and all of the kids got a remote control race car which Liam loved driving around! Daniel had so much fun with his friends and we had fun talking with the other moms and dads and having actual adult conversation :)

more fun in the sun

Now that its finally warming up Liam and Daniel are loving getting to go outside more. I love that we have so many parks to go to. I love taking Liam to the park because he is so sweet and friendly with other kids. Everyone at the park is his friend and he just starts playing with everyone.

butterfly preserve

Mike and Dan went on a boys trip to the Mint 400 so Liam and I spent the day together. We went out to breakfast at Panera and went to Springs Preserve to see the butterfly preserve. Liam loved seeing all the butterflies. His favorite was the blue and black one. They had a play ground too which Liam had fun on. They had a really tall slide that he loved!

ER trip

Well we've had our first trip to the ER. Although with 2 boys I'm surprised we made it almost 5 years without a visit. Liam was our first trip to the ER.

We went to the playground in the mall and Liam was walking on the bench after he got up to look at something. As he was getting down he slipped and fell off the bench. On the way down he hit his head on a stroller someone had brought into the play area (you aren't supposed to bring them into the play area). Mike went and grabbed him and found out he was bleeding quite badly from the head. So we ran over to the T-mobile store and got a first aid kit and they called mall security and the paramedics. His head finally stopped bleeding and then we took him to the hospital.

We had the fastest ER trip ever! We were in and out in less than 2 hours! The doctor decided he didn't need stitches and instead used his hair to suture his cut and then they glued it. The poor kid was so tired and hungry by the end. He couldn't sleep though because I think he was just overwhelmed with everything. He didn't want anyone to touch his head for a while but after a few days he was ok with us looking at it. He was also so calm the whole time which surprised all the doctors. I hated seeing him hurt but I was so glad he was alright.

bike rides

We've been loving this nice weather and have gone on lots of bike/car rides. Dan is loving his bike rides and Liam has been following around on his lightening McQueen car. Liam is getting big for it but he's still loving it.

We have a hill by our apartment and they love going down the hill. Dan is getting good at balancing and steering. Liam is quite the dare devil and pushes himself down the hill and puts his feet up and likes to go super fast. It so cute!

date night

We had grandma visiting so Mike and I got to go out on a date while the boys played with grandma!

We went to the Bellagio to see the conservatory display. Its the year of the pig so its all decorated to show that. Its a fun display.

We also wandered around Caesars and saw all the Peter Lik art galleries which were amazing! Then we got ice cream!

outside fun

We finally had a sunny warm day this week and we took advantage of it by spending a lot of time outside! While dan was at school I took Liam over to Aunt Stacey's so he could play outside with all his toys. He had so much fun being able to run around and throw things and kick things. He played t-ball, soccer, basketball and dragged the lawn mower around the yard for a long time! I love that its finally nice outside and we can go outside again :)
