Boothbay railway village

Since the boys love trains so much we went to booth bay railway village which was lots of fun. Unfortunately we went on a super hot day which wasn't so fun and the train ride wasn't quite fast enough to really cool us down. It was a really nice place though with lots of stuff to see and lots of space for the boys to run around. We can't wait to go back and take Mike with us this time.

The village is a big area with more than just trains. They have all kinds of things from around the early 19th century but we did get to ride a train which was Daniel's favorite part. Daniel and Liam have been on enough trains just this year that when we tell them to sit they can tell us that they have to sit when they hear the whistle because the whistle means the train will move.

They also had lots of trains outside for people to climb on and explore and some big model trains.

The village also has a collection of cars. They range from 1902-1962 except for the small model cars which were Liam's favorite.

Liam loved the little cars and picked out everyone's car :)

Yay I get the yellow bug :)

Liam's absolute favorite part were the goats they had by the old schoolhouse. Liam just wanted to sit and talk to them. They also got to ring the bell at the schoolhouse.

The village has a really cool model train shop. They had lots of different model train sets up with trains that went around the whole room. Liam was so fascinated by them.

They had lots of other buildings too. Like a church, a firehouse with a firetruck, a town hall, a black smith shop and a few other things we didn't walk to see because it was getting hot and the boys were tired. It'll be fun to go back in the fall and ride the train again when the leaves start to change!
