Thanksgiving

We were in Charleston with my family for Thanksgiving again this year. We were really excited to celebrate Daniel's second Thanksgiving because this year he was actually able to eat real food. It was so much better than giving him a bottle  and having him watch us eat. We had fun going shopping, eating, cooking, playing games and spending time with friends and family.

One thing I try to always do when we go to Charleston is see my friend Tiffany. She has a little boy who is 7 months and his name is Daniel too! It was fun to go out to lunch with her and talk and meet her little Daniel :)

It was very warm on Thanksgiving and I was missing the Fall weather. It was 75 degrees which made our huff and puff a bit warm but also more fun for Dan to play at the park during it.

After our walk we went home and continued our dinner preparations. I was in charge of the broccoli salad and the deviled eggs so I got work while my mom got the turkey in the oven. We were going to brine the turkey but circumstances didn't allow for it so instead we decided to wrap the turkey in bacon :) Who doesn't love bacon right? After we had gotten a lot of the food going, we sat down and ate dessert. Since we weren't eating dinner until around 6:30 we decided to do pie first so we wouldn't have to skip dessert. I love pie and I won't lie...it was my favorite part.

Daniel was loving all of the extra attention he was getting down there. Having people around with nothing to do but entertain him meant he was in heaven. He was especially attached to my dad. He absolutely loved playing with him and it was so cute to see him get excited whenever grandpa came in the room.

I don't think a more accurate onesie exists...his grandma's do think he is perfect :)

We sat down to dinner around 6:30 but even though it was late, the food was so good! I ate more than I should have but it was yummy! Daniel ate stuffing, sweet potatoes, fruit, mashed potatoes and rolls for dinner and loved every bite. He tried olives too but he wasn't a fan...oh well I guess I can stay the single olive lover of the family.

We had a nice Thanksgiving. Its always nice to have a day to remind us to be thankful and to remember our blessings. I agree that we should be thankful all year but on days like this I'm reminded how blessed I am. I am very grateful for my wonderful husband, my sweet baby boy and the rest of my family as well. I am thankful for my home, education and the testimony I have of Jesus Christ. I spent the month of November thinking of the little things and its true that when we really think about it, we are very blessed and have so much to be thankful for!
