Christmas 2017

We were very blessed this Christmas. It was quite the contrast to last year. We weren't in the best place at the end of 2016 so it was great to be able to close out 2017 on a positive and happier note. It was just the four of us this year at home in Utah because we're getting ready to move so traveling just wasn't in the cards this year. It was such a nice Christmas though and it was so much more relaxing just being together with my little family.

We woke up on Christmas morning to a white Christmas. We've had a dry December so I guess mother nature was saving the snow to give us a white Christmas which was great!

The boys slept in a little on Christmas morning but Daniel remembered that Santa was coming and was super excited!

We started with our stockings of course and then we made waffles to do the traditional Epperson breakfast of waffles with ice cream and strawberries. The boys didn't want strawberries so they just had waffles with a little ice cream. They loved their stockings though and Liam dug right into his teddy grahams in his stocking.

We also have a tradition in our family that everyone gets a new ornament each year. This year Daniel got to pick Liams ornament. Winnie the Pooh was perfect for Daniel. He was so excited to open it and carried it around with him through breakfast and until we opened presents. Liam loved his snoopy ornament since he loves puppies. Mike chose wisely and got me Harry Potter :) I got him a BYU smores ornament :)

We were all very blessed to get wonderful gifts this year. The boys especially were spoiled by family but they love all their gifts. Daniel has been asking for a choo choo bike for weeks and a Pooh and was so excited when he got them! Liam was so excited to open everything and was fascinated with the bows. Daniel liked opening stuff at first but got a little overwhelmed after a bit so we had a couple meltdowns and had to pause a few times to let everyone relax and reset. Daniel was also determined to make sure all the wrapping paper got into garbage bags so when he opened presents he first had to put the paper in the trash.

Once he opened this book it was all he wanted to do

We saved our Santa gifts for last. We were all very happy with our Santa presents. Daniel got his bike!! Liam got a fun car to ride! Mike got me a bread maker and Mike got a punching bag and we each got boxing gloves to start our home gym in Maine.

We spent the day talking to family, the boys played with their toys and we went outside and played in the snow. Daniel also wanted to watch the Tigger Movie.

Mike's mom also got us all matching pajamas. She got blue penguin pajamas which I LOVE!!! We got one on Christmas morning but then we took another one a few days later in front of the tree :)

We had a nice quiet dinner too. We had duck again which was delicious!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I love this time of year and the opportunity we have to remember our Savior and his birth and His life. I'm so grateful for my family and for this time of year! They are my greatest blessing :)
